CLASSES

Classical Hatha Yoga

Hatha Yoga is a 5000 year old practice of movement, breath work, and meditation, that calms the mind and strengthens the body. Some benefits of Yoga are improved strength, flexibility and immune system. Find balance in your daily life with Hatha Yoga.

 

The Class Explained:

The class begins with opening relaxation. Attention is paid to focus the mind on the present moment and the breath.  Warming up the body with classical Sun Salutations a traditional series of movements that warm up the body and stretch the muscles to prepare for the following poses. The class continues with standing poses, forward bends, balance poses and seated or floor work. Moving into stillness with twisting postures, backbends and inversions, all demonstrated at beginner intermediate and advanced levels. The session ends with resting meditation to calm and still the mind. Relax, renew and enjoy!

Restorative Yoga

1.5 hr   |  $15

Restorative yoga has many therapeutic benefits for all systems in the body. Soothing nerves, relieving joint/muscle stiffness, & reducing swelling to the legs. When practiced regularly, yoga can decrease chances of illness. Come to rejuvenate & relax!

 

The Class Explained:

Restorative yoga is a practice of many gentle, relaxed poses. The use of props (bolsters, blocks and straps) assists you to achieve and to hold the poses for longer periods of time to gain full benefit from the poses. Most of the poses are done while lying on the yoga mat. There are a few seated and standing poses that encourage strength and balance. If necessary, a chair may be used

for the seated postures.

Yin Yoga

1.5 hr   |  $15

Yin Yoga has it's roots in Daoism. The poses improve the flow of Chi through the energetic meridians of the body allowing one to distill the mind. Yin yoga aims to create space in joints and between tissues bringing most benefit to your body.  

 

The Class Explained:

Each Yin posture benefits a number of the eight magnificient channels of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).  These postures are combined in a sequence to bring the most benefit to the body mind and spirit. Yin Yoga is not like Restorative Yoga and show not be practices inthe presence of acute joing or connective tissue injuries. This type of yoga will keep your joints flexible and your tendonws, ligaments and fascia supple. 

 

Classes are 1.5 hr's long with a 10 minute Shivasana at the conclusion of each class.  

Prenatal Yoga

1.5 hr Private Sessions 

Pregnancy is a time of rapid change in a woman’s body. Fluctuating hormones have a significant influence on our physical and mental being. This program is designed for this tender time of a woman’s life can greatly improve the journey of the pregnancy.

Learn to relax your mind, control your body and love your soul through breathing, comforting poses and good aura.
